Menu planning: Creating menus for daily operations and special events
Recipe development: Researching new ingredients and suppliers, and experimenting with new recipes
Food preparation: Overseeing the preparation of food to ensure it meets quality and presentation standards
Kitchen management: Supervising kitchen staff, delegating tasks, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently
Inventory management: Controlling stock, inspecting deliveries, and maintaining inventory
Food safety and hygiene: Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
Sanitation: Being familiar with sanitation regulations
Demonstrating techniques: Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to the kitchen staff
Adjusting orders: Adjusting orders to meet guests requests
Chefs are culinary professionals who are trained in all aspects of food preparation. They may also prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
