Description
Menu creation: Develops creative menus for formal and informal events, including dinners, receptions, and buffets
Food preparation: Prepares ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing
Cooking: Cooks food according to recipes and quality standards, and tests food to ensure its cooked properly
Presentation: Determines how food should be presented, and creates decorative food displays
Kitchen management: Manages all aspects of the kitchen, including maintenance of equipment, cleaning, and grocery shopping
Food safety and hygiene: Maintains proper food safety, kitchen hygiene, and sanitation procedures
Staff management: Hires and trains junior chefs, and supervises and coordinates the activities of cooks and other food preparation workers
Inventory: Reviews the menu and does inventory
Budgeting: Follows the budget set by the restaurant manager
Vendor relations: Manages relationships with distributors and resolves any issues with vendors
Requirements
