- An Anesthesia Technician is a healthcare professional responsible for assisting the anesthesiologist by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, monitoring patient vital signs during surgery, and ensuring a safe and smooth administration of anesthesia throughout the procedure, including assisting with necessary adjustments as directed by the anesthesiologist; they play a crucial role in supporting patient care during surgical operations
- Requirements
- Associate degree in Anesthesia Technology or related field
Certification as a Certified Anesthesia Technician (CAT) from the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT)
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
Ability to lift and move heavy medical equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
