Description
We are seeking a licensed occupational therapist to join our growing team of medical professionals. You will be working with patients who are recovering from injuries and disabilities and help them regain their abilities so that they can resume work. Duties will include conducting a physical assessment of clients, developing treatment plans, assessing work and home environments of clients, and developing physical rehabilitation programs.

A bachelors degree in occupational therapy and a state license is required to be considered as a candidate. To be a successful hire, you will need to have up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities:

-Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients and developing or following a treatment plan.
-Assessing home and work environments of clients and deciding what adjustments are needed.
-Advising on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities.
-Developing physical rehabilitation programs to help clients regain lost skills.
Requirements
EDUCATION:

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy (min 3 years course duration)

OR direct entry to a recognized program with the attainment of a MSc Degree in Occupational Therapy


Desired:

Evidence of completion of discipline specific specialist course e.g. Splinting/casting, specialized seating assessment and prescription with course certification, Bobath Neuro Development Therapy certification, sensory integration certification, cognitive behavioral therapy.

EXPERIENCE:

Not less than 3 years as a licensed OT in a acute hospital or community -based rehab setting

Including clinical experience in:

Wheelchair seating (pediatrics)
Splinting or casting
Pediatric developmental screening
Sensory Integration of pediatric patients.
Note: OT working in school settings will not be considered.

PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

Must be eligible for the DOH - Department of Health license Abu-Dhabi or transferable UAE license as an Occupational Therapist.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluent in English - Oral and Written.
