Description
Join us if you are a Cardiologist specializing in diagnosing, treating and preventing diseases that mainly affect the heart and blood vessels.

The individual will work with adult patients to treat ongoing, long-term illnesses or will respond to emergency, potentially life-threatening situations.



Cardiologist Duties and Responsibilities



Treat patients by reviewing and understanding their medical backgrounds and examining them to assess their current condition and health
Look at and employ ways of preventing, diagnosing and treating a range of heart-related problems
Carry out tests such as echocardiograms and interpret test results to measure how effectively the heart is working, which will help you to decide on the best method of treatment
Perform specialist procedures, such as cardiac catheterisation, to help diagnose and guide treatment of a variety of heart conditions
Carry out a range of advanced interventional or surgical cardiac procedures, such as coronary artery bypass surgery, stenting of coronary angioplasty
Prescribe medication to patients to help treat a range of cardiac illnesses
Provide ongoing support and advice to patients under long-term care
Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating and liaising closely with colleagues
Provide support and advice to colleagues working in other specialities



Cardiologist Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and Specialization certificate
Completion of clinical residency in cardiology
Current medical license to practice
Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work closely with a team of medical professionals
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Requirements
Cardiologist Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, pre-med, physical sciences, or related field
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree; clinical residency, and cardiology fellowship
• Participation in further medical education and/or professional organization memberships are preferred
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong desire to help people and improve their daily lives
• Compassionate and sensitive to patients’ needs and concerns
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exhibits patience and understanding
• Great interpersonal relations, communications, and demeanor
