Description
We are on the hunt for a talented and reliable maintenance technician to join our maintenance department. In this position, your chief responsibility is to preserve the excellent condition and functionality of our business premises. Your duties will include conducting quality assessments, scheduling repairs, maintaining inventory, and developing preventative maintenance procedures.

Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

The post holder will carry out electrical maintenance, remedial and improvement work on all single and three phase electrical installations, services and equipment within Health and
Social Care sites and properties. The post holder will work as a member of the electrical team and will participate in the out of hours On Call service.

KEY TASKS:

1. The installation and maintenance and repair of both single and three phase electrical
installations and services, including fault diagnosis on plant and equipment across all
H&SC properties.
2. Participation in the “on call” rota is required to provide an out-of-hours service to all
hospitals, homes and departments throughout H&SC.
3. To maintain and repair oil fired steam and hot water boilers, water treatment plant and
associated pumping equipment.
4. To maintain and repair air handling and ancillary ventilation equipment and inverter
drives, hot water heating installations, light and power installations, lifting equipment
and stand-by generation plant.
5. To undertake training, both on and off island, on routine and specialist equipment and
plant as deemed appropriate by Estates Management.
6. A flexible approach to cross skills working is in operation and the post holder may be
expected to work outside of his/her trade providing assistance to other staff or
departments.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
Effective problem-solving abilities.
Must be well- organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
