Description: Specialize in treating injuries and conditions that affect the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments or tendons.
Diagnose and treat conditions such as arthritis, fractures, dislocations, sprains, strains, and spinal deformities.
Perform surgical procedures such as joint replacement, arthroscopy, bone grafts, and spinal surgery.
Work with other healthcare professionals such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and sports medicine specialists.
Involved in teaching, research, and developing new surgical techniques or technologies.
Provide recommendations for pain management and rehabilitation to help patients recover from injuries or surgeries.
Use diagnostic imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs to help diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans.
Specialize in specific areas of orthopedic surgery, such as sports medicine, pediatrics, or trauma.
Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, techniques, and technologies to provide the best possible care to their patients.

Requirements: Orthopedic Surgeon Prerequisites

Orthopedic surgeons need precise eye-hand coordination and intense attention to detail to perform operations on the body. They must maintain focus and concentration, sometimes standing for hours, during procedures. Analytical abilities are key to accurately interpreting the results of diagnostic tests.

A Medical Degree with and residency specialization in Emergency Medicine
Certification with the Board of Orthopedic Surgery
In-depth knowledge of hand, foot, and spine surgery
Superb dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Outstanding patient management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
