- An optometrist, also known as an eye doctor, assesses patients eyes to identify vision problems, diseases, and injuries. They diagnose and treat these issues, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide comprehensive vision care, including evaluating eye defects, managing medical files, and implementing treatment plans. They may also recommend follow-up care and refer patients to other healthcare providers if needed.
- Requirements
- Doctor of optometry (O.D.) degree.
Must possess a state-issued license for O.D. and optometry.
A minimum of 2 years ‘experience as an Optometrist.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders and conditions.
Customer service oriented with excellent analytical skills.
