Description
We are looking for a highly capable medical transcriptionist to transcribe voice recordings of medical consultations and procedures. In this role, you will be responsible for transcribing audio files, editing speech recognition transcripts, and formatting transcription reports. You may also be required to enter medical reports into electronic health record systems.

To ensure success, medical transcriptionists should demonstrate extensive experience in medical transcription and in-depth familiarity with medical terminology. Outstanding candidates exhibit advanced proficiency in transcribing with specialized equipment and are extremely detail-oriented.

Medical Transcriptionist Responsibilities:

-Listening to the recorded dictation of physicians and other healthcare professionals.
-Using specialized transcription equipment such as headsets and foot pedals.
-Editing and correcting medical dictation performed by speech recognition software.
-Converting transcribed diagnostic test results, procedures, and consultation notes into applicable report formats.
-Ensuring uncompromised patient care by transcribing fast and accurately, as well as performing thorough editing.
Requirements
1 to 3 years experience. At least six months experience as a transcriptionist/editor in an educational setting or RMT/RHDS or CMT/CHDS certifications or at least one year experience in acute care transcription without certification required.
Demonstrate ability to work in all work types and specialties. Demonstrate quality transcription work, consistently maintaining an accuracy score of 99% or higher. Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, and style, in order to provide quality feedback to the transcriptionist. Excellent acoustical skills. Demonstrate an understanding of the medicolegal implications and responsibilities of the healthcare record, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, along with security standards and privacy practices. Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices. Ability to understand diverse accents, dialects, and varying dictation styles. Proficient in referencing and researching. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with time constraints. Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision. Ability to operate computer, multiple software applications, transcription equipment, and other office equipment necessary, including the ability to accept voice/text files in multiple formats and word processing software. Cooperative, congenial, and positive behavior exhibited. minimum productivity standards as they are established.
