- Patient care: Welcoming patients, helping them, and maintaining patient records
Scheduling: Scheduling appointments, surgeries, and staff meetings, and sending reminders
Phone calls: Answering and directing phone calls, and taking messages
Billing and insurance: Processing insurance claims and patient billing
Paperwork: Managing paperwork, including patient records, schedules, and appointment information
Communication: Interacting with patients, consultants, co-workers, suppliers, and medical staff
Reports: Writing and preparing reports, invoices, and memos
Database management: Managing the office database and file system
Administrative support: Providing administrative support to medical staff
- Requirements
- Experience with electronic medical records.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience as a medical secretary.
Degree from approved medical administrative program or equivalent.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
