- Job Description:
The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic laboratory tests, analyzing specimens, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results to support clinical decision-making. This role operates within a regulated healthcare environment in the UAE and adheres strictly to quality control, safety standards, and local health authority guidelines. The technologist will work collaboratively with medical staff, maintaining precise documentation and upholding laboratory best practices at all times.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids in accordance with established protocols.
• Calibrating, operating, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Recording, analyzing, and reporting test data using laboratory information systems in compliance with confidentiality policies.
• Participating in internal and external quality assurance programs and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Ensuring all activities comply with UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), SEHA, or DHA regulations and accreditation standards.
• Managing inventory of reagents, consumables, and supplies to maintain uninterrupted lab operations.
• Assisting in training and mentoring junior staff and interns on lab techniques and protocols.
• Following biosafety procedures and infection control guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Requirements
- Experience: 3 years
- Bachelor degree
- • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
• Valid license or eligibility as a Laboratory Technologist .
• Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical laboratory experience, preferably within healthcare facilities.
• Strong technical expertise in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, or immunology.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and automated diagnostic equipment.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and compliance.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in shifts, including weekends or holidays, as required by the lab schedule.
