- A Laboratory Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks within a laboratory setting, including preparing samples, operating and maintaining specialized equipment, conducting experiments, analyzing data, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining inventory of supplies, all while adhering to established procedures and quality standards; they may also assist researchers or students in their laboratory work depending on the setting.
- Requirements
- A minimum of a BSc in medical diagnostics, medical technology or an equivalent with a specialist in medical microbiology;
6 Years of experience in medical microbiology in a human clinical laboratory in developing countries with at least two years’ experience in a laboratory quality management role
Knowledge and experience in the laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases including specific hands-on laboratory experience.
