Description: We are looking for a Laboratory Analyst to join our medical team.

Laboratory Analyst Responsibilities:

-Performs a variety of basic and advanced chemical, biological, and bacteriological tests of water, wastewater, solids and soils necessary to ensure that plant processes meet wastewater treatment and NPDES discharge permit standards and that drinking water meets State and Federal health requirements.
-Collects samples for analysis, prepares glassware and equipment for lab use and performs lab housekeeping duties as necessary.
-Makes mathematical calculations and statistical analysis for test results.
-Maintains and makes minor repairs to lab equipment, fixtures and samplers.

Requirements: The primary qualifications for getting a job as a laboratory analyst are a bachelors degree in a relevant field and some experience working in a lab environment. Many laboratories prefer applicants who have a masters degree or even a doctorate, so research the types of labs you want to work in to determine how far you should take your education. Laboratories often use a variety of tools and techniques, so actively searching out additional training and certifications can help you stand out from competitors. Other useful qualities for starting a career as a laboratory analyst include communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
