Care coordination
GPs manage and improve the health of their patients, and may refer them to specialists for urgent or more specialized care.
Health education
GPs advise patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and other health-related topics.
Emergency care
GPs can provide life-saving treatment in an emergency until emergency services arrive.
Continuity of care
GPs provide care for patients with chronic illnesses and long-term conditions, and may support patient self-care

Requirements: Medical Degree.
Successful completion of a 3-year residency training program.
Registration with an appropriate health professions board.
Proven experience as a General Practitioner.
Adherence to health and ethical codes, including when under duress.
Attendance at medical conferences.
Personable, supportive disposition.
Strong ability to triage and multitask.
Excellent administrative skills.
