- diagnoses and treats medical and surgical disorders of the ears, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck. Job responsibilities include running outpatient clinics, managing conditions non-surgically with medication, performing a variety of head and neck surgeries from cosmetic procedures to cancer treatment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care. The role requires extensive knowledge of the head and neck, basic medical sciences, surgical principles, and specialized training in areas like otology, laryngology, head and neck oncology, and facial plastic surgery.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnosis & Evaluation:
Assessing and managing conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, and related head and neck structures.
Non-Surgical Treatment:
Prescribing medications and providing medical management for conditions like infections, allergies, and hearing loss.
Surgical Procedures:
Performing a wide range of surgeries including ear surgeries for hearing restoration, sinus surgeries, throat surgeries for breathing issues, and head and neck cancer surgeries.
Reconstructive & Cosmetic Surgery:
Conducting facial plastic and reconstructive surgeries to repair deformities, restore function, and improve appearance after trauma or disease.
Specialized Care:
Treating voice and laryngeal problems, sleep disorders, and conditions affecting endocrine glands in the neck.
