- Dermatologists in South Africa typically study for about 10 years. The first 6 years are spent on theoretical training to obtain a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and the other four years in post-grad studies to obtain a Master of Medicine in Dermatology degree.
- Requirements
- Medical Degree with specialization in Dermatology.
Completion of all three parts of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam.
Completion of a 3-year dermatology residency.
Attainment of a medical license.
Proficiency with dermatological tools such as comedone extractors, lancet extractors, and cryogens.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Good interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in mathematics.
