- A Biomedical Engineer’s duties revolve around designing and developing software and hardware solutions for medical applications. Other duties and responsibilities of a Biomedical Engineer include:
Installing medical equipment in healthcare facilities
Training healthcare professionals on the proper usage of medical equipment
Collaborating with Medical Scientists and Chemists to investigate the engineering aspects of biological processes in humans
Preparing a report of recommendations based on research findings
Presenting research findings to relevant stakeholders in the medical industry
Maintaining and inspecting medical equipment on a regular basis
- Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, biomedical science, or a related field.
Professional Licensed Engineer (P.E.) with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
Proven experience working within the field of biomedical engineering.
