- Currently utilizing an industry-standard proprietary software product to monitor and collect log and flow data from the network devices in Data Centre ,LAN, WAN, Campuses and Branches as well as to perform IP address management, maintain devices inventory and generate reports based on inventory information and collected data.
looking to transfer all these functions to its standard in-house logging and monitoring STACK based solution (stack is based on Telegraf/InfluxDB/Grafana (TIG), Icinga and ELK as well as Netbox for IPAM)
and the job holders task will be to execute this transfer by configuring the relevant dashboards in TIG, Icinga and ELK that will enable organization to start utilizing the in-house stack instead of a proprietary solution for the network monitoring.
Core Job Role:
The candidate will be expected to build a functional network monitoring system (NMS) with the above-mentioned technology stack.
JD
I. Build TIG/icinga dashboards and monitors for the network devices monitoring and reporting.
• Build monitoring and reporting dashboards for different network devices that will display relevant information by ingesting SNMP traps and performing SNMP, SSH, HTTP, RPC or other type of polls.
II. Build ELK logic for ingestion of log and flow data from the network devices. Extraction and visualization of the insights relevant to the network performance produced by this data
• Capture raw log and flow data from the network device and create parsing rules in ELK for its indexing.
• Visualization of the insights of parsed and indexed data on Kibana
III. Overall design of NMS
• Analyze the current network design to understand the relevant metrics to capture.
Segregate the metrics (alert/ticket/log) to achieve optimal ‘signal/noise’ ration on alert dashboards and tickets.
