Prepare samples

Plan treatment
Histopathologists play a key role in planning treatment for patients with cancer by staging and grading their tumors.
Work with other professionals
Histopathologists work with other doctors, scientists, and healthcare staff to manage patient care.
Teach and research
Some histopathologists have teaching and research responsibilities.
Attend meetings

Requirements
A Ph.D. in medicine.
A minimum of 4 years of specialist training in histopathology.
Completion of the United States Medical Licensing exam.
Extensive knowledge of tissue sampling and analysis techniques.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
