- Description
- A Logistics Supervisor essentially oversees the shipping and delivery of materials and warehouse personnel. They mainly work in warehouse settings and for retailers and wholesalers and are involved in managing the loading of trucks, setting up delivery routes and unloading of material.
- Requirements
- Summary of Responsibilities:
• Extensive experience as a dockhand, including several years in leadership roles.
• Proficient in all aspects of dock operations, including loading and unloading cargo,
securing vessels, and performing inspections.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and regulations, ensuring compliance and
minimizing risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively collaborate with
teams and provide guidance to junior dockhands.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Proactive problem-solver, capable of identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
• Adaptable and flexible, able to work in various weather conditions and adjust to
changing work schedules.
• Overseeing the daily operations of the marina, coordinating the activities of a team
of dockhands.
• Supervised and participated in the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring
compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
• Inspecting vessels and equipment to identify any maintenance or repair needs,
promptly reporting issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Managing the allocation of resources and equipment to optimize workflow and
productivity.
• Training and mentoring new dockhands, providing guidance on safe handling
techniques and best practices.
• Collaborating with marina management and other departments to ensure efficient
coordination of operations.
• Responding to customer inquiries and concerns, addressing any issues promptly and
ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to inspections, and
incidents.
• Implementing safety protocols and ensured compliance with regulatory
requirements.
• Conducting routine inspections of equipment and reported any malfunctions or
damage.
• Collaborating with team members to maintain a clean and organized work
environment.
• Assisting in training new dockhands on proper handling and safety procedures.
