Description: Assess nutritional needs: Evaluate a patients nutritional needs and health status
Develop meal plans: Create meal plans that consider the patients preferences and budget
Counsel patients: Provide guidance on healthy eating habits and nutrition issues
Educate patients: Teach patients about the relationship between diet and health
Collaborate with other health care professionals: Consult with physicians and other members of the health care team
Monitor patients: Monitor patients for changes in body composition, such as muscle and fat loss

Geriatric dietitian: Focuses on the nutritional needs of older people
Renal dietitian: Focuses on the relationship between diet and kidney disease
Critical care dietitian: Focuses on nutrition support treatment plans for patients in critical care

Requirements: Masters Degree* in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition.
Three years experience as a Dietitian, one year of which must have been in a supervisory and/or administrative
position.
