Description: Biotechnologists use their knowledge of biology and technology to develop new products and processes in areas such as healthcare, agriculture and the environment. They may work in laboratories, researching, analysing and testing new products, or in production and manufacturing, ensuring quality control and safety. They must have a strong understanding of biology, chemistry and engineering, as well as the ability to interpret complex data.

Biotechnologist Duties

- Developing and producing products and processes using biological systems

- Designing experiments and interpreting results

- Maintaining laboratory equipment and safety standards

- Conducting literature reviews and preparing technical reports

- Collaborating with other professionals such as engineers and chemists

- Providing advice and consultancy to other organisations

- Biotechnologist Requirements

- A degree in biotechnology, biology, chemistry or a related field

- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, cell culture and molecular biology

- Experience in the biotechnology industry

- Ability to design and conduct experiments

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in biology.
More education or experience may be preferred.
Familiarity with specific organisms, conditions, or scientific processes may be required.
Strong understanding of biology, chemistry, and laboratory equipment and procedures.
Ability to work independently or with a team.
Willingness to travel to locations to conduct research.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with computers, especially scientific databases.
Leadership experience may be a plus.
