- A Speech Therapist, also known as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. They work with a variety of conditions, including speech sound difficulties, language delays, voice disorders, fluency issues (like stuttering), and swallowing problems.
- Requirements
- Masters degree in speech therapy or speech-language pathology.
Relevant license and certification.
Experience with certain disorders and age groups may be required.
Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.
Familiarity with database management software.
Excellent relationship-building skills.
Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.
