Description: Performing patient assessments
Developing individual treatment plans
Liaising with teachers, family members, and other healthcare professionals
Administering therapy and monitoring progress
Ensuring patients and their families are informed of new treatments and therapy techniques
Assessing, diagnosing and treating a range of language and communication disorders
Helping people experiencing communication challenges, such as those who have experienced an injury, have a learning condition or developmental disability, or are having trouble swallowing
Identifying and evaluating speech and language disorders
Creating treatment and rehabilitation plans programs based on the specific needs of patients
Monitoring the progress of patients receiving speech-language therapy
Evaluating patients to determine the nature and extent of their communication or swallowing disorders
Providing therapy to improve speech, language, and swallowing skills
Teaching patients and their families how to use communication devices and techniques
Documenting patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary

Requirements: Masters degree in speech therapy or speech-language pathology.
Relevant license and certification.
Experience with certain disorders and age groups may be required.
Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.
Familiarity with database management software.
Excellent relationship-building skills.
