Description: To excel as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, a candidate should be able to balance technical skills with patient interactions. Their main responsibility is to produce images for diagnostic purposes. Some typical Diagnostic Medical Sonographer job duties include:

Preparing the diagnostic equipment before appointments
Discussing the procedure and medical history with patients
Positioning the patient to produce the highest-quality images
Creating images of organs and tissues for diagnostic and assessment purposes using an ultrasound transducer
Ensuring the generated images are clear and capture the necessary information
Identifying potential abnormalities detected with the images
Providing a summary of the findings and documenting it in patient records
Communicating with physicians and other medical team members, who use the images to make a diagnosis

Requirements: An associates or bachelors degree in sonography.
An industry certification and state license may be advantageous.
Strong technical, communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
The ability to explain technical terms in a clear and understandable way.
Good eyesight and attention to detail.
Strong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.
