- Assessment and Diagnosis:
Observe, interview, and survey individuals to assess their mental, emotional, and behavioral state and diagnose psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
Treatment Planning:
Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes, often using methods like cognitive behavioral therapy, to help clients achieve personal, social, and vocational adjustment.
Therapeutic Intervention:
Provide counseling and therapy to help clients manage mental health conditions, cope with challenges, and improve their overall well-being.
Research and Testing:
Design and conduct controlled experiments, studies, and psychoanalysis to better understand behavior and brain function. Administer psychological tests to assess personality, intelligence, and other cognitive functions.
Collaboration and Consultation:
Work with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and social workers, to provide integrated care. Consult with clients, their families, and colleagues to discuss findings and treatment approaches.
Documentation:
Write research papers, articles, and reports to share findings with other professionals and contribute to the body of knowledge in the field
