- Oversee the procurement, storage, and dispensation of medications and supplies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Develop and implement pharmacy department policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation and quality service.
Manage the pharmacy budget, including forecasting, monitoring expenses, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Lead, hire, and train pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to ensure a competent workforce.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and improve clinical outcomes.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and pharmaceutical representatives to negotiate drug prices and manage inventory.
Implement and oversee medication safety practices to minimize medication errors and enhance patient safety.
Conduct research and analyze data on medication use and effectiveness to support evidence-based practice and improve pharmacy services.
