Pharmacologist Role Purpose
The purpose of a pharmacologist is to investigate the effects and uses of drugs, chemicals and other therapeutic agents, in order to better understand their effects on the human body and to develop more effective treatments. They may also be involved in the design and implementation of clinical trials, as well as the development of new medications and the evaluation of existing ones. Additionally, pharmacologists may work in a variety of settings, including laboratories, hospitals, universities and pharmaceutical companies.

Requirements
A medical or doctoral degree.
A state license and certification to administer drugs to humans.
