Description: Diagnosis:
Conduct physical examinations, review medical histories, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs) to evaluate orthopedic conditions.
Treatment Planning:
Develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication, physical therapy, lifestyle changes, and surgery.
Surgery:
Perform surgical procedures to repair, replace, or reconstruct damaged bones, joints, tendons, and ligaments.
Postoperative Care:
Monitor patient recovery, manage pain, and ensure proper healing of musculoskeletal tissues.
Collaboration:
Work with other healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists and radiologists, to provide comprehensive patient care.
Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and injury prevention.
Professional Development:
Stay up-to-date on new techniques, technologies, and research in orthopedic surgery.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and treatment outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of a residency program in orthopedic surgery.
Board certification in orthopedic surgery (e.g., by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery).
A valid state medical license.
A valid DEA certificate.
