Description: Obstetricians specialize in caring for people during preconception, pregnancy, childbirth and the first several weeks postpartum (after childbirth). They manage and treat health conditions associated with pregnancy to ensure both you and your baby are healthy.

Requirements: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school
Fulfillment of the requirements of a residency program specializing in obstetrics and gynecology
Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or equivalent
Valid state license to practice medicine
Proven experience as an obstetrician and gynecologist in a hospital or clinic setting
Excellent knowledge of women’s health issues and best practices
