Description: Prenatal care
Obstetricians perform prenatal screenings, exams, and lab tests to monitor the pregnancy. They also evaluate the babys size, growth, and position in the uterus.
Birth
Obstetricians manage labor and delivery, including labor induction, emergencies, and medications. They can also perform interventions and caesareans.
Postpartum care
Obstetricians provide postpartum care for up to six weeks after childbirth.
Other responsibilities
Obstetricians may also:
Diagnose and treat complications during pregnancy
Treat health conditions that can affect the pregnancy or baby
Prepare reports on birth, death, and disease statistics

Requirements: Experience practicing medicine

Strong communication skills
