Description: Transcription:
Listening to audio recordings of medical professionals (doctors, nurses, etc.) and converting them into written reports.
Editing and Proofreading:
Reviewing and correcting transcriptions for accuracy, grammar, and medical terminology.
Maintaining Records:
Ensuring all medical documentation is accurate, complete, and properly formatted for patient records.
Following Guidelines:
Adhering to confidentiality regulations (like HIPAA) and maintaining the integrity of patient information.
Utilizing Technology:
Employing specialized transcription equipment and software, as well as electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Collaboration:
Interacting with healthcare providers to clarify information or correct errors in dictations.

Requirements: Post-secondary training in medical transcription.
Certification as a healthcare documentation specialist would be advantageous.
2-3 years of experience as a medical transcriptionist, or similar.
Keen attention to detail in order not to compromise patient care.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and meet legal requirements.
Exceptional written communication skills and knowledge of medical record formats.
