Description
We are looking for a Medical Insurance Co-ordinator to be responsible for working with insurance companies to verify patients’ benefits, as well as calculating and collecting outstanding payments from patients. You should be proficient in using the dental practice management software to update each patient’s file, run and monitor weekly and monthly reports to verify insurance payments received, and upload completed insurance forms into patients’ electronic files.

To be successful as a Medical Insurance Co-ordinator, you should work closely with patients, explain their benefits to them, communicate any insurance concerns, and manage any insurance disputes. An outstanding dental insurance coordinator should achieve excellent customer service, and share a professional relationship with insurance companies to ensure success in balancing patient benefits with insurance payments.

Medical Insurance Co-ordinator Responsibilities:

-Verifying the patient’s health insurance benefits.
-Explaining insurance benefits to patients.
-Entering data using dental practice management software.
-Generating reports for all activities.
-Posting payments made by patients.
-Following up on non-paid insurance claims.
-Managing late payments and overdue accounts.
Requirements
Roles and Responsibilities:
• To ensure proper functioning of the Insurance department.
• Documentation of all claims, ensure effective submission and coordination of all insurance related activities in the clinic.
• To obtain approvals for medical procedures and coordinating with insurance companies for obtaining information on new policies and their coverage.
• Ensuring coverage of claims, guiding staff for correct use age of claim forms, approval papers.
• Explaining coverage of medical benefits and liaising with patients regarding their eligibility and entitlements.
• Assisting invoicing team in insurance processing and billing.
• To liaise with insurance companies regarding eligibility, payments, approvals, reconciliation and other requirements.
• To train and educate staff on insurance matters
• To maintain and update records related to pre-approvals and reconciliation.
• To coordinate and co-operate for smooth running of Insurance operations
