- ENT surgeons treat a wide range of conditions, including ear infections, hearing loss, sinus infections, nasal injuries, throat cancers, and more.
Procedures performed
ENT surgeons perform a variety of surgical procedures, including head and neck surgeries, facial plastic surgery, and micro-surgery to restore hearing.
Other responsibilities
ENT surgeons also prescribe medications and supplements, refer patients to other specialists, and coordinate the activities of other medical staff.
Skills needed
ENT surgeons should be compassionate, work well in a team, and have strong communication skills. They should also be able to work under stressful conditions and have a keen eye for detail

- The minimum qualifications for an ENT physician assistant include a master’s degree in a assistant program. After graduation, you have to obtain your physician assistant license. All US states require licensure for you to practice. The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is the organization that administers the Assistant National Certifying Examination. To maintain your physician’s assistant license, you must do 100 hours of continuing education every two years. Once you complete your degree and obtain your license, you can choose to pursue additional education to specialize as an ENT. Strong communication skills are also essential.
