- A Dental Technician, also known as a Dental Laboratory Technician, designs and creates dental devices and prosthetics, like crowns, bridges, and dentures, according to a dentists prescription. They work in a laboratory setting, using various tools and materials to fabricate these devices to fit a patients specific needs.
- Requirements
- Accredited dental laboratory technology program.
Certified Dental Technician (CDT) preferred.
At least 2 years of experience as a dental laboratory technician.
In-depth knowledge of dental prostheses, devices, and related technologies.
Extensive experience in constructing, replacing, repairing, and restoring dental devices.
Proficiency in dental laboratory computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, such as 3 Shape and Delfin Dental.
