- Description
- We are hiring a dental assistant for our busy dental practice. You will help with preparing patients, sterilizing instruments, setting up rooms, and some dental hygiene tasks. To do well in this role you should have a dental x-ray certification and provide a great level of patient care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate work of designated area to ensure efficient functioning of unit
• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care.
• Demonstrates self-motivation and organization Skills.
• Participates in staff meetings, committees and projects.
• Demonstrates cooperation, coordination and respect among individuals / departments in order to provide excellent customer service (internal and external).
• Performs additional duties when required.
• Prioritizing work load according to the need of the patient and the operational function of the clinic.
• Willing to learn and adopt new skills to improve working environment.
• Accepts constructive feedback positively.
• Understands and strictly adhere to the policies and procedures established in the Employee Handbook and AHD Policies and Procedures.
• Punctual, i.e., reports for duty on time and informs Clinic Manager/Designee when leaving the area. Adheres to clinic operational hours.
• Follows the chain of command in reporting incidents or concerns.
• Assist staff nurses and care assistants in planning, implementing and evaluating direct patient care.
• Demonstrates skill in co-ordination and planning of care and prioritizing care, based on individual needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to render appropriate care and services based on age, appropriateness and needs of patients.
• Ensures accurate nursing documentation is maintained as according to hospital policy and procedures.
• Collaborates with patients, families and health care professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Maintains awareness regarding Hospital Policies and Procedures.
• Promotes incident, customer complaint and patient satisfaction survey reporting to improve patient and family care.
• Assist in creating a safe and friendly environment for all patients, their families and other staff members.
• Maintains effective communication between patients, nurses and physicians regarding follow up care/instructions.
• Maintains update service specific competencies – according to guidelines.
• Shares knowledge and skills with colleagues and others.
• Maintains knowledge and awareness regarding department / service specific policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Provides supervision and advice to PRR staff regarding patients’ enquiries.
• Participates in and maintains clinic specific audits and other data.
• Assisting the dentists when required.
- Requirements
- Diploma in Dental Assistant or Dental Nursing (Minimum 2-year course duration) or its equivalent
Previous working experience as Dental Nurse
Currently licensed in country of origin
