Pathologist Job Summary
We are currently seeking a highly-skilled, experienced pathologist to join our innovative medical team. In this role, you will demonstrate your expertise in the study and diagnosis of disease, primarily in our state-of-the-art laboratory. You will also conduct gross examinations in a surgical setting, as needed. You will play a vital part in ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients and help train the next generation of physicians.

Pathologist Duties and Responsibilities

- Oversee cytopathology service department/laboratory
- Conduct gross examinations and provide anatomical pathology services as needed
- Ensure the proper handling of all samples
- Examine all samples as requested, conducting all necessary tests accurately
- Provide thorough written evaluation and diagnosis for each case
- Participate at some level in ongoing research and development
- Participate in the training/teaching of residents and medical students
- Work collaboratively with other physicians and laboratory staff
- Attend all required trainings and conferences
- Maintain compliance with all legal and institutional requirements at all times
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
4 to 7 years’ internship and residency training, specializing in pathology.
Valid and active medical license in the state you wish to practice.
Experience using lab testing equipment, such as microscopes and flow cytometers.
Working knowledge of medical data management software, including MEDITECH Anatomical Pathology, PATHLOGIX, and ASPYRA CyberLAB.
Exceptional analytical and research skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
