Description
An Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB-GYN) is a medical professional specializing in women’s health, including reproductive organs and conditions such as diabetes. They perform tests, diagnose disorders, and provide treatments. OB-GYNs monitor expectant mothers, educate patients on disease prevention, collaborate with medical teams, and stay updated with advancements.

We are seeking an experienced OB-GYN to join our medical center. You will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, treating, and monitoring diseases and issues related to womens health, and providing medical counsel and support to women during pregnancy and childbirth.

To be successful as an OB-GYN, you should be a highly-skilled specialist who is passionate about womens healthcare. Top candidates will also be good communicators and educators.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To have responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of self and others and to comply at all times with
the requirement of the Health and Safety Regulations.
• To ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of
employment to those acting in an official capacity.
• To work in accordance with the Health Practice Commission’s policy to eliminate unlawful discrimination in
relation to employment and service delivery.
• To ensure skills are up-to-date and relevant to the role, to follow relevant policies and professional codes
and to maintain registration where this is a requirement of the role.
• Keep a track of the progress shown by the patients during the treatment process.
• Suggest alternative treatments in case there is no health progress.
• Provide health care assistance to the pregnant women in prenatal, natal and postnatal care.
• Provide dietary tips and conduct regular examinations for pregnant women.
• Provide all types of consulting help related to womens reproductive system.
• Maintain reports of the patients that can help them in future treatments.
• Refer patients to other specialists in case the disease is related to some other medical problem.
• Consult with other doctors and take their help in the treatment process.
• Give alternate treatments options to the patients and help them understand the exact process of
treatment concerned to their disease.
• Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
• Able to evaluate own gynecological practice.
• Knowledge of legislation relating to gynecology.
• Communicate with patients in a manner appropriate to their ability to understand.
Requirements
Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school
Fulfillment of the requirements of a residency program specializing in obstetrics and gynecology
Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or equivalent
Valid state license to practice medicine
Proven experience as an obstetrician and gynecologist in a hospital or clinic setting
Excellent knowledge of women’s health issues and best practices
